I work in a pharmacy and we get that question all the time. Birth control is not at its peek level until after about 3 weeks, which is prob why they said the second pack. The hormones help after about a week but it is at the optimal dose only after the 3rd week. You can try to buy a plan b (the morning after pill) if the "incident" sorry thats what we call it at work happened 72 hours or less ago. Other than that it is a wait and see. Also for the future a lot of medications interact with birth control and can make it less effective so ask you pharmacist if you get any more prescriptions.
