Felons & the right to vote.

I can't swear this is true for EVERY state - so bear with me on that...
but my understanding is that no felon can vote while incarcerated, on probation or parole & sometimes for a holding period after & in some states never again at all.

YET - there is no law preventing a convicted felon from running for office or holding office even while imprisoned. http://www.factcheck.org/2008/11/felons-in-office/

What do you think about that?
(And no - they can't become president & I think Cali was trying to bar this but not sure where they got with it)

Alot of states are changing that law to where they CAN vote, they just waited until after the presidental elections to start the ballots for felon voting. It is amazing to me that they can't vote, yet over 2000 dead people were able to vote for Obama for prez.

Where did you get that number from? I've heard people claim it's 2 million & that it was the 08 election.
