Oh my goodness your heart must be racing! I'd freak out on my husband for not having the knife up high enough! I hate having any sort of knives or guns in the house ..

OP, I was once cutting up a kiwi, and I didn't think my son could climb things yet. I saw it was about to rain, and we have a little portable clothes line that I can hang up on our porch to dry clothes. Well, I ran out to unclip it, and was right back inside...30 seconds? I come back in to see my son crying, and holding his hand. I thought that maybe my daughter has taken something from him. I asked her what happened and she said, "He grabbed your knife, so I took it out of his hands..." I panicked!! He has cut inbetween his fingers from her pulling it away. I quickly packed us up and we went to his doctor where he had liquid stitches. I felt like the worst mother, ever!! Sometimes things happen though, you live and learn!

Knives need to be in a drawer or on counter pushed all the way to back, nothing like that is left when kids can climb or knock down, that's very scary... my husband has a knife and multi tool and that stays in his top underwear drawer...
Even in the shower if my razor falls or is on floor jade picks it up and gives it to me, dean did this as a toddler too,
I would start explaining what things are dangerous for them, that's very scary...

It WAS up high in a cupboard in our bedroom which is always locked... He just knows how to unlock it and is a climber   We are thinking of getting a lockable safe or something just so he can't break into it! Aargh I hate having such smart kids coz they get into soo much mischief!

Jades been watching ninja warrior with her father for as long as I can remember, she is seriously a monkey, its scary to watch her cut she can climb on almost anything... we have a few of those safes u can get them cheap at walmart, that's where we got ours

Mmm will have to see where I can get them in Australia! I am dreading camping in the New Years right now coz between him and my 2 year old being mischiefs and Noah is just starting to walk I'm gonna be buggered lol

Do u use ebay?? I just looked up sentry fire safe and they have them for 30.00...
