PP bleeding and episiotomy/tear healing

posted 18th Dec
2 days after I had my son I stopped bleeding and was just having that milky lochia discharge stuff. I thought I was pretty much done bleeding for at least 3 more weeks or w/e. Well, today I get out of bed to use the restroom, and my pad is full of bright red blood. (I'm 11 days PP) I thought it was too soon to even start my first period. I mean, wouldn't my body have to have time to build up some kind of uterine lining? So I accept the fact that I started my period, and the last time I used to rest room, I had a little bit of brownish blood on the pad.   Is the irregular bleeding like that normal? I've been having some pains on the inside since I came home from the hospital, but I've been trying not to pay them any mind. Idk if they could be connected to the bleeding.

Also, how long after you had your baby did it take for your stitches to start dissolving? Thursday night I was still in a lot of pain down there and could barely move, then come Saturday and I'm moving around fine and think my stitches started dissolving. I don't remember it being itchy until at least 2 weeks after I had my daughter, and I was cut with her (don't they say cuts heal faster than tears?) 1 week after birth seems really really fast to me, especially for having a 3rd degree tear.

I bled for about a month! And I tore open all my stitches so it took about two weeks to be able to even sit down and almost a month to some what get comfy. Maybe 3 weeks. I could feel mine as they healed. Mainly because I tore them open   but all sounds normal to me. The bleeding seems like it will never end. But I would ask your doctor just incase!

Ouch! I was so paranoid that was going to happen in the hospital. How did yours tear and how far along were you? and did yours itch as they healed too?

Hmm, that's weird then. I bled A LOT while I was in labor, and was completely done having any blood (even the brown old blood) come out at 2 days. I wonder where this blood was hiding.

Yes they itched so bad! It could indicate infection, but when a wound heals it itches. I tore them because the day I have birth my bf had to leave since he was sick and I had to take care of her all night alone. Had no help and the nurses didn't do smurf. I was trying to get up and down quickly to get to the baby since no one was there to hand her to me. Just did to much,

ouch! That's why I was paranoid about ripping mine. I was in there all alone at night, but my nurse was extremely helpful. I had baby in the bed with me though and she never told me anything.

Yea my daughter had colic so she screamed all night. I slept 29 minutes the whole first night of her life. It was horrible! Plus I had just turned 20 and had no idea what to do with a baby! So I was up bouncing her and walking her around all night

I hope this baby doesn't get colic. I don't have help with him, so itd be extra hard on me.
