I agree ... However its not just this issue. I have seen many times peopleo both sides creating a D&D and when someone from another country offers advice (either good or bad) they're told that its none of their business. Was just wondering if people think there needs to be some seperation to prevent misunderstanding and hostility.

I see it in cultural differences such as circumcision (about half of babyi boys are still circ'd and I know in the other active countries on here -Australia, UK, Canada- it is a very small percentage. I don't think separating by country would be fun.....part of the fun in D&D (to me anyways) is seeing that difference I may not ever see in person.

Right, because America as a country and Americans as loudmouth citizens have NEVER butted into the affairs of another country

no, I love seeing the differences in different countries.. how we view things.

there will always be "not your business" posts... but they're ignorant people who forget this is an open online forum.

I know exactly what you are talking about and no because I doubt very much they butt out of other peoples business.

No. BUT, i think people should be mature enough to understand that what works in one country may not work in another country.
It makes for interesting D & D unless/until people get ugly about one country being far superior to another becasue of X.

and there's been an increasing amount of this. I'm finding that there's a lot more 'them and us' mentally in recent months, from both sides and was wondering if people thought that there should be separation of the cultures.

For me it's "what makes the world go 'round."
I like our differences.

If this is actually stemming from the other thread like TJ seems to think, then this isn't comparable. That thread was made on like Sunday and it was far too early for people to come online from other countries and say what America did wrong and where the blame was for Sandy Hook. This isn't about politics this is about the compassion we should have as generally compassionate countries.

I can only compare it to if you were to miscarry and your aunt comes over the next day and is like "I told you that caffeine was a bad idea, what did you think would happen?"

I surely didn't say that nobody should debate other countries issues I said that its far too soon for us to pretend we know what would have prevented this and pretending we did is obnoxious and rude.

This didn't stem from your thread ... in fact I don't even know if I had seen your thread when I posted this. This was in fact due to a large amount of people in the US telling myself and a few other women on here (mostly UK I think), basically that we had no idea what we're talking about because we're not American. This happened even in our own threads about topics unrelated to the US and its politics. Sure the latest tragedy and the whole gun debate has brought all this to a head, but it was something I've noticed before then as well.

Gotcha!! I figured as much, you've never had any issues telling me directly how you feel.

No and I don't ... its an all round issue. I've just been told in another D&D about marriage that it isn't an international discussion, yet in the OP the US was never mentioned. This is the type of thing I'm talking about

Oh, that's ridiculous. My entire point was that it was too soon and not our place to point fingers at laws and regulations of another country. But that's my stance every time any country involves themselves in the native customs of another country. That's not to say we can't discuss regular politics of the world.
