Baby's father wanting an abortion
posted 17th Dec
This is just out of pure curiosity. I want to know what you all think about this. Do you think it's fair for a woman to keep a child if the father is adamant about getting an abortion? My opinion is that it's not fair for one person to just make this decision without the other agreeing, but at the same time, it's kind of the woman's choice.. I'm somewhat in between opinions on that.

I couldn't do it. It's my body and if I want to grow a child in it then he can just suck it up and be there or leave

He can walk. It IS her choice.

I think she should be able to have her child. Nobody would be telling me what to do with my body and child. But, if the Father didn't want the Child, there should be a way for him to sign off all rights, too. It isn't quite fair for a Woman to decide on abortion, but a man can't give up parental rights.

Personally if I got pregnant and the guy did not want the pregnancy at all I would offer him the choice to sign over his rights and not have any contact with the child and I would not go after him for support.
Now if it was a husband trying to push abortion, that ones way trickier.

She should be able to have the child. He should have the choice to walk away and have nothing to do with the child.

No woman should be forced to end her pregnancy, just like no woman should be forced to be pregnant when she doesn't want to. Abortion or not is strictly the woman's choice. End of story.
However, I do believe that if the father wants an abortion and the mother doesn't, she shouldn't force him to be involved.

No man should force me to have an abortion. Fix yourself if you don't want your swimmers out there./

Its the womans body, so its her choice on whether to keep the baby or not. Abortion is a very emotional decision, and can really smurf up a person if they are pushed into it.

first im a guy. 17 and my gf is pregnant.
i wanted her to abort but she didnt. i was really pissed and scared. told her i would leave her.
i have since changed my mind after i calmed down. still scared but i realized i smurfed up.i posted on here and got attacked by everyone. lol.
anyways. i thought a guy should have a say. now i dont know. i saw how hurt my gf was. i felt bad.
if the guy doesnt want it i guess he could just leave but then he would have to pay. so im still not sure. i think i said the wrong things and if they could talk it out maybe they could agree.
but im still confused and scared and have alot going on so not sure if that makes sence.

I'm torn on that subject. On the one hand I think a man's opinion should at least be heard but on the other hand I think boohoo for him. She has to do all the work. So if she decides to keep the baby or she decides to abort, he doesn't get a say. Her body, her choice. I will say, despite my being pro choice, I do feel for the men who want their children and don't get to have them on one level.

I would never have an abortion JUST because the baby's father wanted me to.

You've seemed to have grown up a ton since you first posted on here. I'm seriously impressed by that. You have every right to be confused and scared as well.

he doesnt have to be in the childs life if he doesnt want to but if the mom wants to keep it then she should keep it. now it would be tricky if the dad wanted and the mom didnt....

I feel the same way, she gets the ultimate choice, but.... it's heartbreaking when a Father really wants their baby and can't have it.
