almost 3 year old wont go poo in the potty

My son is almost 3 and has been pretty much completely potty trained since beginning of summer. Some days we can get him to the toilet on time to go poop but other times he starts to go in his underwear and when i get him to the toilet he wont go anymore. Im at a total loss on what to do. My oldest son seemed to be much easier to get to poop in the potty...any suggestions?

DS was the same way. He didn't fully grasp poop until he was 3.5. I kept him in a pullup all day long cuz it's way easier to clean up than underwear.

He will go when hes ready, you cant force them to do something if they arnt ready

My daughter was a couple months past her third birthday when she decided to stop wearing diapers. Before then, she would use the toilet quite a bit and then stop for a while and then we'd get frustrated with each other  . I had to just let it go and leave her to her own schedule. I kept hearing that children will learn to use the toilet when they are ready but I don't think I completely believed it until I saw it for myself  .
