Gallbladder removal 4-7 days after conception

So it's basically impossible to tell if your pregnant a week after conception. I had sex yesterday and had an oopsie. Well Wedneday I half to have my gallbladder removed. If I do happen to be pregnant will it cause any damage to the fetus? My mother in law is a nurse and she said I should be fine and so will the baby if I am expecting. I'm just nervous. I kind of want to reschedule, but my gallbladder is so messed up I know I'll be in for an emergency surgery in no time if I do so.

I had mine out at 14 weeks pregnant. Everything went smoothly. It longer for me to recover since i was so far along in the pregnancy the baby was kicking me a lot and stretching out the stitches. I had my healthy baby boy at 35 weeks. I also have preterm labor through out the whole thing. My last 2 pregnancies before this resulted in preterm as well. But baby was just fine after i had my surgery! Its a same day surgery. In and out.

Crazy! My Dr would not touch it when I was pregnant! Good Luck though

I know a few people who had them out during pregnancy. They had to wait till after the first trimester tho. It's only four days after ovulation for me tho. So I think I'll be fine.

i didnt have a choice on removal. i had already lost 12lbs and could not keep water down. Baby needed nutrition to grow so i saw the surgeon then 2 days later it was out.

As far as safe - it is safer to do it now than ANY other time in pregnancy.
Mine bothered me the whole pregnancy with #2 & it was no fun.

I've had problems for two years. But this past week it's been so bad. I can not wait for it to be gone.

It is so strange you say that because I have held out with diet & such (my youngest is 2 1/2 yrs old) and I have an ultrasound scheduled for this Friday & they are thinking mines coming out now too.   So I TOTALLY feel you momma!

Can I ask what kind of pain it causes you? Like explain it to me? How did you find out it was your gallbladder?

Gall bladder pain is different for different people but it generally is located straight down from your right nipple right where your ribs end.

Mine is my right side. It's really bad pain. I'll get those attacks whenever. Also After I eat (it can be anything) my stomach will hurt. Like really bad cramps. They tested me for abunch of other stuff also. My gallbladder isn't functioning right, so they are just taking it before it ends up really bad.

The reason I asked is because I do believe thats what my husbands problem is. His grandmother, two sisters, and his mom all had to have theirs removed. He has went to the doctor over this smurf like two or three times and they still won't check to see if its his gallbladder! Knowing he has a serious family history of the issue.
He has no insurance too which makes things harder :/
It just worries me, if you let it go for too long can't it like rupture or some crap and like kill you?

Yeah i just read the symptoms of the attack and gallbladder symptoms and he has A LOT of them. These doctors down here are idiots  
How ever I hope your surgery goes well and I've heard of people going into it pregnant and their babies came out fine

It can but it is not likely to become fatal. If he were in an acute gallbladder attack & went to the ER, they would have to take it out whether he could pay or not because you have the right to emergency medical are to stabilize you. It is part of the "patient bill of rights" just like they cant' turn a woman in labor away.
