labor before c section

I have a c section scheduled for Thursday morning. All day today I've been having lower back pain and the top of my stomach would be rock hard each time it happened. It's still going on and my back really hurts. I'm not sure if its actual labor or not, but my question is if I am in labor, do I still have to wait til contractions are really close together, or do I just go since I need to have a c section?

If you need the C-Section, I'd go in early, so there's enough time and it isn't rushed. Even if it's not labor, you should get checked.

I'd say that it depends on why you're having the cesarean.

I think just go because it's a bitch to get a spinal when you're having contractions! I had to have an emergency c-section and was labouring for 38 hours beforehand. Call L&D, explain your situation because it's not scheduled and they'll need to organise the theatre and surgeons. Good luck!

Go in! I had 3 repeat C Sections and with my 3rd I was in labor when I went in and my contractions weren't even close - happened a week before my c section date! They went ahead and did my c section that night.

Why does the reasoning matter? Its something kinda personal but its safer for baby to be delivered via c section

Before I decided to VBAC my dr told me that as soon as I was having timeable contractions (no matter their strength or how far apart they were) to go in and they would get the csection scheduled for as soon as they could that day. (emergencies went first)
