Do you do the same dollar amount for the kids, or same quantity of presents?
I have been thinking about this. Obviously, my 4 year old wants gifts that are more pricey than the little ones, but they would wonder why they got like, 2 gifts and the babies get like 6 gifts.
So I just curious how people do it?

I'm just trying to make it as equal as I can so the baby doesn't steal all of his brothers stuff and make him angry haha

LMAO good luck with that. The older kid's stuff is ALWAYS better than theirs!!

I spend just about the same on each child.
Give or take like 10 bucks this year.

Growing up, we were allowed to pick one "big" gift that was pricier then our other gifts. My parents tried to spend the same on each of us (there were 4 of us).

I do equal amount of gifts for my kids. They each get one big expensive thing and the rest are usually cheaper.
This year they each got 5 things
and they get equal amounts in their stockings as well.
It always hurt my feelings growing up when I would open 2 things and my brother opened 10....

I write all the gifts down and the prices and try and keep it as close as possible. When i was growing up as a kid i always got my one big present..one year it was a 13 inch tv, one year a cd player boombox woohooo! i thought i was so cool. And one year it was a sega game gear. Then just little ones besides that.

For my mother it wasn't about money, it was about the number of gifts.
We each got one larger (usually more expensive) gift from Santa, with our stocking. Then she bought us all 3 gifts - something fun, something to wear and something educational.
I've carried on this system with my daughter, she is now 16 years old and it's worked very, very well.

I spent more on my 2.5 year old but they got equal amount of gifts.
If there was a bigger age difference then I'm sure the older one wouldn't get AS much due to price.

I've done equal number of presents this year and a few shared presents (books).

I try to keep it both equal amounts of money and presents. Normally one large gift and a few smaller ones, and a couple joint gifts (like DVDs and games)

I know..that was our major issue with buying this year. Our soon-to-be toddler is all in his brothers face and what he is playing with(quite literally in his face)
This is our 3 year olds first big Christmas since we know what he wants/likes and he understands it.(he says family is more important, love him) We want to make it special for him. My 10 month old..has everything already really since he has his brothers stuff. So, we just bought him a little people sets/cars. I am hoping we can distract the baby enough that my oldest wont freak out lol
But while we may have not bought the baby AS much, we spent about the same amount I think..

Between DH and I, we have a HUGE immediate family. The kids get a Smurf load of presents from everyone. We used to go all out on Christmas, but it was way too much. Now we just buy the boys two or three things that they really want.... we do a couple of the "bigger" presents instead of a bunch of smaller ones.

I do not keep the same money amount. They are 2 and 4 I try to keep around the same amount of presents thouhj. This year we bought my oldest who is 4 1/2 years old 10 gifts and spent about $260ish, and we bought my youngest who is 2 years old 8 gifts and that came to about $140ish. Then we bought 5 together gifts came to about 130ish. I think when they become teenagers we will prob then do the same mony amount. But while they are little we just try to stay within the same amount of gifts.
