There Goes My Self Control (and Diet) :(

posted 17th Dec
Ugh..I've been dieting (IE not eating smurf food and watching my portions) and taking my DS for walks everyday that it hasn't been raining for about 2 weeks. Well, my boyfriend had his little girl this weekend, and since tomorrow is her birthday we did our birthday stuff with her on Saturday. I wanted to get his little girl just a small round cake, since he is dieting as well and having a big cake sitting around is not a good idea....but no, he insisted on the half sheet cake >_< so now there's 3/4's of a cake sitting in the fridge and what did I do after lunch...I had a slice..and not a tiny one either...I couldn't help it..the icing is soo yummy (not to sweet) and fluffy...ugh...I'm horrible

It's not the end of your diet, just get back on track. Also, if we buy stuff like that I have one day where I can eat it, the next day I throw it out.

I know it's not the end of the world, but I still feel crappy for breaking my diet. And Saturday is our 'cheat day' so I'd already had my cheat for the week...And SO would flip if I threw out the cake, we don't throw away food, it's a waste of money and in my eyes it's somewhat insulting, if I'm going to spend money on food that's just going to go in the trash, why not take that money and buy food to donate to a shelter where the food would actually be eaten by people who need it

ehh, maybe you should have gone with your first instinct and purchased a smaller cake then. Idk, you can keep it around the house, but that means you or your family will be eating it. I was just saying what *I* do, and have successfully lost weight by doing so. I've had several gatherings/parties to go to, and I've made cheesecakes, pies, cakes, all sorts of stuff. When the party is over I ask others to take it with them or throw it away. That's just me though. Plus I don't give two smurfs what my DH thinks about me throwing out junk food, I want him to live longer and he needs to eat healthy too. (He recently had a heart attack though and he's not even overweight, so it's easy to convince him not to eat crap). We just don't keep it in the house, plain and simple.
