re: to the Americans (and anyone who wants to reply)

The second amendment is basically about the right to own guns and the right to form a malitia if we as a country of citizens decide to go to war with the government to protect our rights and freedoms.

I do not believe we need stricter gun laws, if they really try to ban guns- it won't happen.. There are too many people who won't allow it.

In no way did I mean to offend- what happened was aweful and a horrible tragedy, and everyone needs time to grieve, maybe obviously I should not of spoke for Canada- I do think the majority though is hoping for change, even if it is in getting better care for mental health. I'm not sure if it's true but I heard in the states you can buy a gun at a corner store, I think at very least where guns are sold should be at restricted stores- not corner stores where I'd bring my kids.

Honestly, I dont think the gun laws should change. Pyscho people will ALWAYS get their hands on one, regardless if its legal or banned. You think crazy people actually follow the law??? I would like to see something with mental health done, and I think that is where our problem really is.

Oh by the way someone posted about police officers not being in schools? I went to Manchester High in Manchester CT and we had atleast 3 police officers daily in our school, also when I went to middle school we had a police officer stationed there as well. I think thats something they should do, I'd gladly pay more $$ in taxes to have atleast 2 at each school depending on the size.

I agree. My son wont be going to private school, therefore I wont be hand picking his teachers. I get teachers we are given, I dont know them from Adam....and I went to school with some wack job teachers.

Security needs to be upped. I also agree these video games need to be stopped. I also can not understand for the life of me why Americas feel the need to protect themselves with guns.

But....Canadians...dont forget this did happen here, in Quebec. School shootings are a world wide problem.

For the families......I can not offer enough sympathy. This stroy and seeing the kids faces is horrible. I am so sorry for all effected.

I don't think it is a good idea at all for teachers to be permitted to carry guns. There are too many undiagnosed mental illnesses. With all the crimes that happen within schools, where the teachers are directly at fault, it certainly wouldn't be a good idea for them to have a weapon. In my opinion, it would be multitudes more dangerous than the odds of someone coming in from outside of school property to commit a crime of sorts.

There is quite an involved process and waiting period to legally obtain a gun in the US.

I've never in my life been in to a run of the mill store that sells guns. Definitely not a corner store. And if they do, they are probably doing so illegally.

I stated they they WERE in High schools, not grade schools

Id like to extend you myself as well. I have had to struggle very hard since my son was born with cancer to find my faith, and am now finally on a great road. Im here if you ever want to talk.

What is your definition of "corner stores"? They are usually sold in guns stores or sporting good stores, like Dicks and Gander.

Lol. No. In some places it is nearly impossible except for the criminals.
I don't think you offended people. But, you see that people here feel strongly about guns. Of course, new laws MAY get passed as our government is ruling without the consent of the governed. This has been going on for a few years now, thanks to the media and uninformed citizens.
