So what are you debating?

Locking up video games so underage kids aren't exposed?

I guess I don't get your point.

My point violent video games should only be controlled within the home if you have children that are not of the recommended age for them to play . I was getting people's view on it from a discussion I heard earlier about video games and a therapist saying if you have children they shouldnt be in the home..read the OP. I said I dont see why not IF they are kept away from underage children. It's like anything else violent movies, guns, drugs, alcohol etc.. it's shouldnt be easily accessable to under age children in your home. How you prevent that is up to the parent..

Should bibles be locked up too?

They talk about war, killings, and alcohol.

Controlled by he patents and spouses
I believe parents play the same amount of time they allow their children to play so they understand what their kids are seeing and understand the impact or potential impact.
They are not harmless to some kids are potentially harmful, in some way, to all kids in large quantities.
Allowing kids to play videos for hours is lazy parenting.

It is the adults responsibility to ensure the ratings apply in their home and children aren't playing games that aren't meant for their age group. However I think blaming video games is a bit ridiculous, it just reminds me of years ago when Marilyn Manson was being blamed for the Columbine shootings

You can't point to any one issue. It's a combo with treatment of the mentally ill at the heart of the problem.

For some reason children dont run to a bible as they would a video game or atleast not the kids I have come across.
Seems more likely for them to be curious and pull a video game out and play it than a bible on the couch and read it.
Do I think they should be locked up..No. I dont think any book should be locked away and I dont think video games need a safe to be locked away either but just like there is a age restriction for them I think they should be followed and not just have children young and impressionable at any age playing video games with extreme violent content. What a parent does and will do is there buisness.

I think that is definitely depending on the family.

Religion was forced upon me. I watched the crucifixion of Jesus idk how many times and it scared the smurf out of me.

That's true, religion was never forced on us and given the choice if we had to pick it wouldnt be reading the bible on a Sunday lol.
