What essentials did you have that helped so much after birth?

I heard depends work great and definitely less mess. So what essentials worked Great for you hygiene wise?

Spray bottle for peeing and a stool softener for about two weeks after. Also, wry wipes for BMs. I wouldn't have been able to comfortably wipe with dry toilet paper.

Same things that helped with hospital birth. The spray bottle, tucks, not wiping, food, and rest. Only thing that was different with home birth is I made placenta pills for PPD, and I was given free postpartum bath herbs that felt really good.

I noticed a pretty big difference with the pills. With our oldest, I didn't do it and didn't bond with her until she was six months old due to PPD. With our youngest, only four months old right now, I did the pills. I do still have PPD, but it's far more controlled. I bonded with her at one month old.

That's great. I have ptsd so I get depressed easily and I want to make the pills as a precaution since I did get ppd after my last child. Thanks for your input.

People to cook for us and bring meals. We setup a meal train. Puppy pads i think they are called Assure and next to the depends. Never needed depends. I ordered a birthkit online that had things that are like what the hospital gives you like the peri bottle, gloves, footprinter, etc. I think it was like $20. If you have a midwife she will probably give a list of what tou need.

I did those too and bleeding stopped in two weeks. Fastest recovery ever.

I will also recommend placenta pills!! Helps a lot.

My midwife had me order a specific kit that came with everything, so we didn't need to get anything special. Just what everybody has already suggested.
