As far as I know, most STDs can be found right away. However, I know herpes and warts can go unfound for years, and you actually have to have a break out to be positive.

HPV, Herpes take longer and can lay, dormant, for a long time. Condoms DO NOT protect against these two viruses as they can exist on surrounding mucosa....anal area, thighs, scrutum, base of penis, around the vagina, in the mouth or on the lips. Yes, Genital Herpes DOES transmit to oral mucosa! The HPV vaccine is also in-effective! So, get tested and have annual pap smears!
