I wouldn't worry about it! My ex husband was pissed because I was (and still aam) super close with his brother and his sister in law..and he would always say things like "that's my family! Why are you over there" and smurf like that lol. His brother and sister in law put him in his place FAST!

Honestly, if it were me, I would keep a safe distance from everyone until the divorce was final. I mean, don't stop talking to them, but I would just keep it chill, you know?

In the end, regardless of their current relationship with your ex, they are still his family. Everyone goes through weirdness during a divorce and I'm sure he feels like you are stepping on "his" territory, if that makes sense. I don't doubt the dude is an smurf, but I guess I would do it to avoid bull smurf from him.

I'm super close with his brother ( older) and mom. Like, really close. We've always been really close and friendly. It just pisses me off that he thinks I go and do nothing but bitch about him... I may dislike him, but I have better things to do then bad mouth his 24/7.

Well that's hard to do when Christmas is right around the corner and my kids want to see their nana's, nene's, uncles, aunt, etc. Ya know? I don't control what his family does, and he just so happens to be uninvited from their holiday this year, based on their feelings right now towards him. I've been planning on going to this since.. August, I can't very much back out now. KWIM? ( Obviously, I switched topics a little lol.)

Yeah that is how I am with his brother and SIL! They even live 2 houses down from us LOL. But yeah I totally get it. He will get over it eventually. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you told him once that you weren't talking smurf about him and he doesn't believe you...oh well. I wouldn't explain it again. Not worth your time, nor is it your responsibility to try to get him to understand something so simple.

Yeah. I have to learn that I don't have to defend myself to him anymore. I told him I wasn't talking smurf, and if he still thinks I am, nothing will tell him differently. NOTHING.

Yeah it is hard to get use to lol. But that is okay! And yeah I'm sure he is just pissed about everything and feels the need to freak out on you about every little detail. Probably makes him mad that he has no say in what you do..especially when it involves his family. But like I said..he will get over it eventually!

He can't just expect his family to forget about you, you were apart of their family and some in-laws tend to still consider family after a divorce. I wouldn't worry about it, you didn't do anything wrong. He is just being rude.

My ex hates that I talk to his sister too. She's the aunt to my child and a very nice lady besides. I hope to count her among my closest friends eventually. I don't see why I can't invite her to Christmas dinner  

I think it's awesome that your soon-to-be-ex in-laws want to stay friendly with you. And I honestly don't think you'd be wrong if you guys DID spend all your time bad mouthing him. If he wasn't an smurf, he wouldn't need to worry about that, huh?
