My 3 year old..

My 3 year old has autism or at least that is what they are going with right now. I say this, because in some areas she is making a lot of learning space up in. So the genetics doc thinks it can also be p10. Which basicly means that it shows autism tendencies and she can grow out of it. Right now our insurance won't cover the test and its 2,500 dollars if I remember correctly. No real concerns with P10 until she gets to be a teenager and into maturity then it can become a problem.
Right now sometimes she wakes up and gets out of bed and will close her door to let us know she is awake..she doesn't slam it but loud enough for us to know. However last night I woke up and she was standing by the bed. I have no clue how long she was there but I am a light sleeper..she didn't say anything. She has done this a time or 2. Does this have anything to do with her autism? wouldn't most 3 year olds wake their parents up by pushing on them or yelling?

I don't know. I could just see her form. Just as I was waking up she turned around and went back to her bed. I don't know if maybe she changed her mind and didn't need us. She has talked like ones or twice in her sleep but thats it. Normally she sleeps pretty hard.

I know that right when DD turned 3, she started sleepwalking. She would come out into the living room and just look at use then go back to bed. She's no autistic but what you are describing sounds similar. DD only did it for about a week or two.

It happened twice 2 weeks ago and once last week. so far thats it. I'm tired but can't sleep so I start thinking about things that have happened and just wondered if other children do it or if it was something with autism. When I got up to check on her she was laying back down in bed.

Try bumping this thread in a few hours when BG is more active. You may have a better change of getting some advice from moms with kids with autism. It's kinda dead right now. I wish I could be of more help. Best of luck!

I know it sounds weird but Im really not that concerned about it. She doesn't ever do harm to herself or anyonne and this doesn't happen all the time. Thanks tho.
