My c-section is in a few hours, I believe im getting a spinal block as I really dont see any need for them to keep an epi in. anywhoo, how does it feel? what part of you is not numb? and how long does a c-section usually take? I was put under with my son, so im not sure. & if you werent put under did you fall asleep anyway? I dont have the baby's father coming or anything...i think my sister will be in there with me, Im hoping shes able to distract me enough so I dont have a panic attack. lol.
I had a spinal block and it didnt hurt me at all. As soon as he got to number 3 when he counted he had already did the spinal and I instantly started going numb. But when I was fully numb I couldn't feel anything from my arm pits down. So I still felt my arms and everything. But unfortunately I felt like I couldn't breath because of the numbness in my chest and I also have anxiety attacks so I had a panic attack on the op table.
I was having constant contractions when they put mine in but I distinctly remember a bit of a sting and then spreading warmth. By the time they got me onto the operating table I could barely feel my feet. It doesn't take too long for it to take effect at all
I was numb from my boobs down, it took about 45min from start to finish. I was awake the whole time and I was up and walking that night, I had him at 9:25a.m.
I was allowed to walk the next day but I'd had a very lengthy labour before being taken for the emergency section. It was also pretty late at night when I got to my room so they wanted me to sleep. I had DS at 9:50 pm and was allowed to walk if I could by 12 the next day.
