If your kids go to school (ct shooting) Long

Are you anxious about sending them to school in the morning? I am, I can't go to sleep and it's all I'm thinking about. I'm just so scared. She's not nervous at all. She's 5 so she doesn't fully understand yet, especially with it not directly (a)effecting her. She's knows a bad person came in to a school and killed lots of people, young children, her age included and she knows I'm sad because I think of something happening to her. However, she says "but they are ok because they get to be with Jesus, and they turn into pretty angels." she's excited because tomorrow is pajama day and they get to watch Polar Express, drink hot chocolate and eat popcorn. I'm glad she's not scared and I haven't shown her that I am but I really might cry when I put her on the bus. I did tear up Friday when she got off the bus just because I was so greatful when I saw her face that I was able to get her off the bus. I had a hard time sending her to school as it was because she had never been in anyone else's care but mine but I love her school, and her teachers and I feel, or felt she was safe there but now... This has really touched my heart and made it ache with sadness for those parents who didn't get to take their babies home. I just can't imagine the pain they are in. I didn't realize that this would be so hard on me but the closer it gets to morning it seems the more anxious I am. I keep telling myself she will be ok and to just calm down and go on with the normal routine especially since keeping her home will just upset her. ( she only has 2 1/2 days until Christmas break and they are doing all kinds of fun stuff.) Then, I'll tell myself eh, just keep her home , she's not doing anything important those days anyways and we can do fun stuff at home. I know she has to go but I feel like getting through the next 2 1/2 days might be awful.

She will be fine, you just have to have faith she will be alright. It doesn't happen all the time. I am also nervous but I know she has to go and I am right around the corner if she needs me. Sounds like your daughter is going to have a blast at school, why don't you go "volunteer" in her class? When my daughter has something planned like that then I will have my hubby take the day off so I can leave the baby with him and go be with her. I help the teacher out and I get to be part of that time with her. Hope this brings you some peace. Hugs to you tonight and tomorrow when you send her off to school

I wish I could volunteer. I don't have anyone to watch DS. I know in my heart that she will be ok and she is definitely going to have tons of fun! Thank you!

How old is your son? I have also gone to her class with him in the snuggly or in his stroller.

He's 17 months. We have a moby but he'd fight me in it with all the kids around and all the fun stuff in her classroom. He hates his stroller. If I took him, id be working overtime watching him, and wouldn't be able to help at all. Lol he's crazy.

lol I thought if he was younger. Mine is a year old and last time I took him he was crazy and wouldn't let me leave his side so I had to sit next to him and help my daughter and her table as much as possible lol
