re: Your/your kid's WORKSPACE? -pics/advice-

I've got some re-organizing to do (before Christmas lol)

and this is my oldests "art corner"

its a bit of a mess back there with all the other supplies I have to store there(playdoh, paint, ect.)
he helped his daddy install it  

I'd advise letting them have input.. decorating it as they see fit.. and making everything they like to use accessible and reachable.

kaylees is just on of those plastic art easels you can fold down into a table.. i just move it around to where ever is convienent as the moment

That's how we are with our easel. The kids have a work space, but they are still so young they barely use it. And they both prefer to stand at the easel rather than sit and do any type of art project yet…other than color with crayons. But its SO nice to have an easel that can just go anywhere in the house that is most convenient.

she uses it mostly to eat her snacks do her homework and color.. shes 5.. once i move in a month or two she has a loft bed im thinking about completely doing a work area under it where i can put her books and a bean bag chair and lighting and her table under the bed.. i think its 4 feet tall.. and when she gets older just get her a desk

I think we'll always try to have a dedicated "art spot" in our house. Separate from school work space.

and yes, haha carter too has a different place for art than for homework

I want to create a little space like that for Alba when she's old enough, but as of now, we have nothing.
