first, come to this thread if you havent already
my kids are 2, 3, 6, and 8. their dad just got home in spetember arfter a year in Korea, and is going to deploy again after the new year. last time he was on an actual deployment was 2006-08. our oldest was 2 when he left, and I was 9 months pregnant. same as you, we webcam'ed every day and he called whenever he got the chance. we had a "daddy book" filled with just pictures of daddy. we looked at it every night and my son kissed daddy goodnight. and every plane we saw was daddy (since last thing he knew, daddy got on a plane). no matter where we were he made me stop and wave at daddy lol.
this last time we didn't webcam as often, but talked on the phone every day. the kids got to talk to him and keep up with him. my oldest understood better than the others. my 2 year old was only 11 months old when he left. she acted exactly the same towards him the next time she saw him a year later.
this time is hard since we just got him back, but we'll make it work.
