What I really don't understand is the increase talk about gun control since this shooting. The loon didn't own any guns and was even denied the sale of one by a gun shop owner. He stole the gun from his mother.

Am I missing something or are people just choosing this event to bring up a fresh debate about gun paws? And I'm not talking about on here. I keep hearing people cry about gun laws in the news...

No, i do not think that guns should be prohibited. Criminals don't follow laws, so why would you want to take guns out of the hands of responsible people who could possibly stop events like this from happening? For the most part, in crimes like these, the shooters did not legally obtain/own the weapons.

I'm just saying guns exist, they will never not exist. Criminals will find a way to get there hands on them. Even if just cops and military had them, there are dirty/shady ppl everywhere. You don't think a cop can help get guns illegally to ppl? They do already so..

It's true - they are. Even my dad blogged about gun control......people shoot each other all the time, but it's only times like this that it gets people outraged.

ETA: There's something american people seem to fail to understand. ALL nations are talking in the news how ridiculous it is to let citizens buy guns without any restrictions. These are considered "safe" countries, who haven't seen anything like this before, while America seems to see it every single year. Meanwhile, in America, people still fail to understand that something's quite wrong with it all.

Safe countries prohibit the use of guns by normal citizens. This is Portugal, Spain, the UK, France... (European countries, this is).

then, american government lets people have guns and look what's happening. Easy acess to guns is ridiculous. Plain ridiculous... Americans are the only ones failing to see it.

Ha, fair enough. There was another -shirt, I think- that said something like things like that happened because god wasn't allowed on schools. It really pissed me off.

It would be A LOT harder for people to get their hands on them and coming down on people found with them is whats needed. No - not gonna change my mind, I don't believe people need guns. Period.

Personally I hate guns... I wish law enforcement were the only 1s to have them... its scary how accessible they are, my fiance' before I met my husband was gunned down...its the worst thing to deal with, it was a terrible way for him to die, he suffered and knew what was happening to him...
Its not like people hunt anymore for survival, not every household needs guns, but we feel we do because every phsyco running around can walk into a pawn shop, or get 1 from the streets, or buy 1 from a guy who knows a guy,

They won't be outlawd because people will cry for their amendment rights, but they should also be screaming for more control..

You've heard of the china stabbings right? You realize that China has very strict gun laws yes? So insted of SHOOTING 22 people, the guy STABBED 22 people. Gun laws will NOT make crime go away or even go down.
