toys in kids bedroom; good idea or bad?

posted 16th Dec
I have a three year old and a 18 month old. my three year old will be having her own twin size bed and my 18 month old in a crib. For the first time they are moving to a seperate room than mine. So my question is, Is it a good idea to have toys in their room, or should i put it in a seperate room? What are your experiences?

My 3 year old and 18 month old share a room. It's also their playroom. I've never had any issues with having the toys in there

LO has toys in her room but they are in her closet (its a REALLY big closet), but she doesn't play in there very often unless my neice is over. Otherwise our spare bedroom is also her toy room for the toys that she plays with most, we end up cleaning out her toy room once a week and bring toys back upstairs to her room

If you have another room then I'd keep most of the toys there.

My kids' room is similar. A twin bed and a crib.

We have a full toybox and a train table in there. Everything else for the most part is in a different room.

DD has toys in her room, she knows the rules and follows them... we've only had one problem so she lost her toys, and it's never happened again.

My kids have their own rooms.. And their toys are in there as well. Both in single beds. Never had a problem.

Toys are in the kids room. If I didnt have toys in their rooms my living room would be a toy room and I do NOT want that.

M (my 3yr old) has a lot more toys then K (my almost 5 yr old) does in her room but they all just play in M's room anyway.

Naps and bedtime have not been a problem.

i have my daughter's toys in her room, and have never had a problem. she goes to bed when she's suppose to, and i rarely have to yell at her to not play with her toys.

I think thats where toys belong. Not everyone has the extra room to have a playroom or toy room or whatever. nad i absolutely hate having toys piled all over my living room... My kids are also 7 and almost 4. but i had never even given thought to them trying to play at bedtime. They just love bedtime that much that they are asleep in like 5 mins anyways haha

We have a playroom and that is where all the toys are except for a few. Each of our kids has a small rubbermaid tote that is able to slid under their beds and thats where they keep their favorite toys

We have the toys in their rooms and we just teach them that there are times when they can play and times when they need to rest. For the most part, they follow that. They pick up their rooms before bed and everything is put away and they generally wake up earlier than us and they play with them, which is fine. If they aren't going to wake me up, I would rather them play with toys in their room.
