DS is still in his crib and not showing any signs of being ready to be done with it. It's a convertible one anyway so we were gonna make it his big boy bed when he's ready. I'm due in 12 weeks and just now starting the nursery for DD. There are a few family members who expressed interest in getting us Babies R Us gift cards as gifts since we aren't having a baby shower. I'm anxious to start getting things ready.. so should I wait and see if other's gift us a gift card or two to help with the cost? Or should we just suck it up and buy it now and use the maybe gift cards for diapers down the road? or none of the above? Lol

I would wait and see!

I would buy a bassinet to start it'll save you on some costs cause most of them are a lot cheaper than cribs and you'll be able to wait it out to see if gift cards arrive or not.

Oh I should have added that we have a bassinet already   I plan on having her in it for the first couple months at least like I did with DS. So I guess I really should wait and see haha.

How old is your son?
My daughter is 4, and has been in a toddler bed for quite some time now so I have her crib I'm going to use for this baby. Her crib is a convertible crib but I found a cheap toddler bed online and decided to go with that instead of converting her crib.

I bought a crib set for the baby and plan on setting her crib up, but I am buying a bassinet so she'll be in our room for a while before I even use the crib. I'd buy a bassinet and use that for a while, I used it with my daughter for a good 3/4 months before I started putting her in her crib.

He is 18 months right now. Not showing any signs of being ready to convert. But we def plan on using the bassinet he used for the little one when she gets here for a bit first!
