Bringing a new guy around your child(ren).

How long do you wait to bring a new guy around your kids? Do you tell his or her father first?

I feel clueless. Halp

I always waited until I knew where it was going to go first and when I felt like I knew enough about him. Needless to say, only one guy has met my kid. I'd definitely let the father know. I'd be pissed if my BD had another woman around my kid and I didn't know about it first.

Im waiting 3 or 4 months. And I am not telling my sons father when I have a boyfriend. lol.

I feel the same way. I'd be livid if I found out he had someone around our kid without me knowing.

The only reason I'd tell the father is if he's an actual part of the child(rens) life..if he's not than it doesn't really matter.

Because I had a guys come around my son and they just leave and it isnt good for my son. So I want to establish something before I bring my son into it.

The reason Im not going to tell my ex is because he likes to see me single and think that he is better than me and he likes to ruin good things of mine.

I have a habit of dating friends of mine because I feel that a relationship should be based in friendship, so my son has known some of my boyfriends before they were my boyfriends. My current SO still has not met the kids and probably won't for a while just because we're still getting to know each other.

And my kids' fathers aren't a part of their lives, so I feel no need to tell them who I'm dating. If they were involved with their kids, I would tell them before the new guy met my kids.

I have only brought two men around my son since my BD and I split up, one I actually married though. Once I knew I could trust them, knew them pretty well, also knew that they weren't like a "typical" man (screw 'em and leave), that is when I let them meet my son.
The first guy I dated after was actually really upset my son was with my grandparents the night of our first date because he wanted to meet him and to the day is still a very active part of his life.
My BD hasn't been around, so I don't exactly have the problem with telling him. When I was with the guy before my husband all he said to me was, "Looks like Peyton has a new daddy now."  

i wouldnt ever bring a "new" guy around my kids. It would probably have to be someone i have dated for a while... like more then just a few months.

My BD is like that when we broke up when I was pregnant with my daughter. I completely understand. I hate that.

Ugh I know how that goes.

The new guy I am seeing has met my DD, not purposely though lol. I tried having him over after she went to bed & she woke up, so I brought her out with us. She is only like 10 months, I don't see how it is any different than having friends around her? I am not going to wait 4 months for a friend to hang out lolol. I knew this guy BEFORE I even had my DD so we have known each other AWHILE, so I feel it is a bit different. I do not plan on telling my BD either, he isn't even in my DD's life like that and I think it is personal, I don't want to know about his little gf's & he keeps his smurf to himself & so do I, but that is just how him & I are. I guess it depends on how you go about things with your BD.
