Very nice. I just happen to have both of those in the cabinet. Do you know how long it would take to notice a positive effect?

I would get to the behavior eval ASAP. If you absolutely do not want meds right off the bat, you can find a pediatric chiropractor or holistics dr. A lot of GOOD chiropractors will also have degrees in holistic medicine. Everyone is different, and nothing is one size fits all, so in the end, he may need pharmaceutical medication.

Nothing will be over night. Don't expect something like that to change. It will be baby steps. I would say within a week or two you could start to see little changes here and there. Have you ever asked him how he feels when he is acting out?

Smurf, I'm not arguing that, cause I honestly have no idea how I'd approach that one. Does he ever see Layla get privledges taken away or something? He's probably at school whenever it happens huh?

Also, the feingold diet may help. Wheat, egg and dairy can be sensitive foods for some too. Here is this. http://www.everydiet.org/diet/feingold-diet You can google feingold diet menu plans that would be extremely helpful and a lot will include shopping lists to go with it.

My oldest was out of control until we took out gluten and he has a very limited amount of dairy.

Wish I had some advice to give, but these ladies seem to know what they're talking about! Good luck, Brittany.

I haven't read all 5 pages so please forgive me if this has been brought up but I've been reading a lot into diet for treatment of behavioral issues. They are now starting to use diet to treat autism spectrum disorders too. They eliminate Gluten and diary from the childs diet, and give them a vitamin that is high in something which is escaping my mind right now but if you'd like me to do some more research on it I can send you some info?

He doesn't ever give me a straight answer. He just says "I don't know".

I'm gonna look up that Feingold thing they were talking about. Thanks mama. Hopefully whenever I finally get to take him to a specialist, they can give me some insight. I've been talking about it for a while now... I just gotta do it now.

Then that gives you some insight, he may not FEEL himself when he is acting out. When I taught preschool, I had a girl who had something, cannot remember for the life of me what in the hell it was now, it was under the autism spectrum, but she would have meltdowns, and one way to calm her out of them was to wrap my arms around her in a tight hug and ask how she was feeling, to think real hard how she felt. It was as if she could not feel her emotions and feelings, which confused her and angered her more.

No, it wasn't that either. It was caused by a brain bleed when she was a newborn, at least that is what her mother said. I just remember it was on the spectrum and it wasn't anything I had heard of before. I miss that kid so much. She hated me when she started, but when I had to quit because we moved, she insisted she could go with me lol. She's one of those kids you will never ever forget because they were just so special to you.

I'm in the exact same boat. My DD 5 is doing the same things. I want to get her evaluated ASAP, but her dad doesn't think anything's wrong with her.   He's turning a blind eye to it all. So I get all the responsibility of it.
I've read that milk allergies can be a problem too. Have you tried soy milk or almond milk with the diet?

Screw dad. Your child shouldn't suffer for dads stupidity. If anyone feels their child should be evaluated they need to go with their gut.
