What do you think of the Nuvaring.?


Any experiences you would like to share?

I got pregnant on it.

My OB says he sees more pregnancies on NuvaRing than anything else.

I read an article about a young woman who did not smoke and was healthy died pretty much in front of her two children and their father. Autopsy said it was a blood clot but she had no history of problems. The father has concluded after research that he thinks it was from her use of Nuvaring.
I just started using Nuvaring, like today so I don't want to continue if there is a possibility it could be harmful

Ugh that freaks me out!!!   From what I have learned about ANY birth control is that there is always going to be a horror story!!!

That is true. But I have been skeptical about using it from the Depo shot and well I do smoke ( though I do want to quit) which increases risks on certian BC

I just quit smoking a week ago so I know how u feel on which b/c is right for you   I have only used the depo myself. Used it for a year and I freaking hated it. Gained 20lbs, bled for a year straight, & no sex drive! I really have no idea what I want to do this time. I have talked to my doc about getting my tubes tied but he says since im only 23 and going on my 2nd kid that he doesnt want me to get it done.. So im either thinking pills, nuva ring, or that arm implant!

i had the NuvaRing for about a year and a half. i loved it. i had no side effects or anything. we had sex with no condoms, only the NuvaRing, and never got pregnant. idk if i was just lucky, or what.

Nuvaring was only cleared for use in the UK in 2009 however in February of that year Scotland rejected it. It got reviewed in October 2009 in Scotland and they did accept it this time but I don't know anyone at all who has ever used it and I know of no Doctors who have ever even mentioned it so I doubt it's something that will come in to wide use here.

I see. BC is hard to decide on. I am switching from the depo. I was on the depo for about 2 years, I have no problem with it and no period   but it is bad for long term use that is why I am switching.

That is interesting.

There are different side effects to NuvaRing that may put women at risk. Blood clots and hypertension were common problems with the ring. It is still best to know the side effects and choose the one that is most compatible for you.
