Aw, I'm sorry, hon. A lot of people forget c-sections are major surgery for some reason. If you get to the point where the pain is unbearable then definitely tell someone because while the healing process is not supposed to be easy or pain free it shouldn't be something you aren't able to handle whatsoever. Complications can arise for any number of reasons and one of the first signs of any resulting complications is unreal pain (from what I've read and heard). Feel better soon and don't forget VBACs are more than possible!

Also, this is one of the main reasons I'm glad I didn't opt for or have to get a c-section. I can't imagine how tough it must be to heal from one. I was able to walk immediately after [vaginally] giving birth to my son and that was just wonderful.

my first one was horrible. If the pain is too bad, talk to your nurse. Also, I found that pushing my stomach helped relieve the gas. I also drank a soda & they gave me something to help me burp and...uhm fart... hehe. It helped alot...
But seriously if you can't bare the pain, talk to your dr/nurses

I had 2 (emergency). My advice is take your pain meds on time! I had 2 different experiences. 1st c section I got Motrin and the pain was unbearable. I was in pain for a long time and constipated for 3 months!

2nd time around I got percocets! What a damn difference. Little to no pain. They also have me gas x, stool softener, and a small laxative. Try walking very slow. Only a few feet and back. Sit in the chair and don't laugh.

I know exactly what you are going through! It's been 15 months since mine, but I still vividly remember all the pain!! Ahhh, literally laying down, getting up from laying, and standing felt like I was going to DIE!! I was always so paranoid about splitting my incision! Eeek c-sections suck!!   I remember thinking I would feel that way forever!! But I promise it does get better soon! And they say the more you get up and walk around the better it is.. Idk how true this is, but I guess it must be true! Lol Good luck hun, I know your pain!!

Also don't try to push the gas out it makes things hurt more. It will literally roll out your butt. But that's why you need to walk to get things flowing in there. Ask for real pain meds. It really helps

I've had two myself. The first one was a nightmare, I know how you feel! For the second though I was up and walking within 6 hours and not in nearly as much pain. I had a drainage tube in my incision though, they removed it the day I was released and that hurt like a SOB because it started healing into place. I was stapled shut, and there were about 18 staples almost back to back, I healed faster and better with my second section, which was a planned one (My cervix won't dilate past 1cm, so it was a must). Don't be afraid to ask the nurses for something to help with the gas and the pain, they will likely be glad to help. I'm allergic to codeine and percocet but I was given very low doses of oxycodone, which helped. Plus they were pumping tylenol into me every 4 hours. Just try to make sure that you have help when you get home, you will be needing it! Congrats!

Absolutely this!!! With my first, I refused pain meds when offered because I felt good... then a couple of hours later I was in so much pain. You've really got to stay on top of it as a preventative.

Motrin? Omg thats horrible! I had percosets (SP?) but to be honest I didnt really use them. I got downgraded to vicodins eventually. I can't believe you were given Motrin. Trrible!

By the way, my first c section was great.   There was pain afterwards but it was bearable. Just felt more like burning. Everything went great.
