Embarasing hemorrhoid question

posted 16th Dec
I have never had a hemorrhoid before, and I don't know if I am supposed to go to the doctor about it or not. It is half internal and half external and in the WORST place possible! *or at least I think it is. Isn't Prepration H just for an internal one? One person told me to put a hot compress on it and then bust it. Wellll that's kinda hard to do considering where it is at, and I don't think the Prepration H would stay on it. If it is a good idea to go to the doctor, do I got to my OBGYN or Family doctor? It hurts to sit, walk, it even hurts when I cough or sneeze. I swear the next time my husband slaps my butt I am going to rip off his arm and beat him with it!!

I've had a few and I never hurt of busting it. Its gross, but I pushed them back in if I could. Then hot compress and hot showers. Prep H and witchhazel also helped. If my husband had slapped my ass when I had one I would have screamed bloody murder. They hurt so bad!

DO NOT POP IT! It will pop on its own. Use witch hazel to help with it. No need to go to the doctor.

You should get tucks pads. I doubt you'll need to see the Dr for a hemorrhoid.

Thanks, I was thinking I should not do that, but needed another opinion.

Yeah, if normal things hurt, the pain of popping it will most likely be excruciating. I have always been advised to not mess with them other than putting meds on it.

Wait, I don't think they're supposed to pop at all though. They're just veins that have become irritated or enlarged and sometimes they end up protruding from the inside as a result.

Honestly, the fastest way to get rid of them is to see your doctor. I was humiliated about it but she only had to look at mine for less than two seconds to confirm that's what was going on and then she prescribed a cream for them. They were totally gone within a week. Occasionally they come back whenever I've been driving for long periods (think eight plus hours) or if I've been constipated but I still have that cream and it still works just fine.

Mine and my fathers have always popped on their own.

my Dr told me to put vicks on a pad and place it where needed. The pad will help avoid any unwanted stains. He said it has the same cooling sensation and is harmless and if you find it at the dollar store much cheaper and has more than just the one use lol. They are horrible. I had them with my LO and was so uncomfortable, hoping I never have to deal with them again!

I read up on it a little last night, from what I understood they can pop and you just get a little blood if it does, but not all of them pop. I just could not find any information on how to get rid of one, or what you should do/should not do.

I don't think that's good... They're not supposed to pop, lol. If they do there's a massive chance for really bad infections. You should try treating them before they reach that point next time. I recommend seeing your doctor and asking for a topical cream so it doesn't reach that point.

Yeah, I can see how some would pop but I imagine that's like a worst case scenario, you know? There are ways to treat and control them before they reach that point. Besides, open wound have a high rate of infection if they're constantly covered in fecal matter and blood (which is what happens with hemorrhoids that open up) and infections in that area probably suck ass (no pun intended...).

Like I've said before, it's definitely possible to treat them with a topical ointment. I forget the name of the stuff my doctor prescribed but it definitely took care of them within a week.
