If they don't go after him for it they will take out whatever you recieved from your state income tax return. By BIL was recieving cash assistance in Ohio last year and his entire state return was taken from him. It will be for the next few years also. The same happened to my sister. Even if you do work while you're recieving it Ohio does make you pay it back.

Due to the fact that every state is different, I think you should go down to the office and ask your case worker. With my oldest sons dad they are STILL after 8 years trying to get hid "dad" for child support. His dad isn't on the birth certificate or anything. The state wants to "recover" the money they put into you. The father who pays child support will be making payments to you and to the state. The amount he pays will lower once the state is paid back. Here when you have a child you will be given papers to fill out info on the father of the child before you leave the hospital after giving birth. If you tell your caseworker that her dad lives with you they will add him to your case once your baby is born. He won't have to pay child support but you may lose benefits. The dad usually will have to get family insurance at his work. If the insurance is too high to pay he can go to the county he lives in and file for a " poor persons pro-se motion" simply stating he can't afford the insurance and Medicaid will have to allow you three to stay on state paid insurance.
