As you can see, polio was already in a decline. The incline of proper sanitation has played a huge role since polio was often contracted through contaminated water.

And here is this. Each vaccine was either on the decline, or just about flatlined before their vaccine.



I am NOT saying this means we shouldn't even have vaccines, because I do think there is some good from them. However, I do not like to place all credit on eradicating disease because of vaccines.

Thanks. It's just the thing that freaked me out is my friend had a son and she did delayed vaccinating. He didn't get the MMR till I think 4yrs old. He had a reaction to it, idk the extent and then shortly after he started acting different. He then was diagnosed with autism. She did all this research and found stuff that said MMR is linked to autism? Idk if its true or what not buy I wanted to do my own research first.
It's sucks because its suck a big choice. This isn't like pampers or Huggies? It's serious. Thank you for your input and I know it's my decision but I really just wanted to try and gain more info sonincan make a educated choice instead if a blind one.

OP, how old is your LO? If you are waiting til 3 or 4 to restart vaccines, I would have his titters checked. Often times we build up natural immunity so our body already had its dose of "natural vaccine." Those will last a lifetime typically. Think chicken pox. You get the vaccine and you still have a 75% chance (give or take) of contracting chicken pox, then you will later need the vaccine again. And again. And again. Every 10 years if I remember correctly. However, if you are exposed to chicken pox and do not contract it, or do, your natural immunity is in place most likely forever, if that makes any sense lol. Natural antibodies built up for the disease is counted as being vaccinated.

This is a really controversial subject. If you read the package insert for the MMR, autism IS listed as a result in clinical trials. I have heard this happen very often. I had a friend who had a son, 5, reading on a 2nd grade level, writing, talking, and within hours of his vaccines went to a babbling, arm flapping, diaper wearing baby trapped in a 5 yr old's body in a matter of hours. It's heart breaking. Vaccine injuries ARE real. Just as real as polio, or mumps, or any other disease the vaccines are meant to protect. So there IS risk, and whether you decide to vaccinate or not, you should understand the diseases themselves and the vaccines. Know your risks, whichever risk you decide you want to take. Because honestly, IMO anyway, they both come with risks equally as great.

He is 16 months. And that's actually when I wanted to delay to (3/4yrs).
I figured I will make the choice before he will be around other kids.
He actually has had the chicken pox but very mild, he got it from my mom when she had shingles (we didn't know that's what she had till it was too late and she had already exposed DS.)
So that might be a good idea. My mom vaccinated all of us and we were all ok, but she selectively did it. We got the MMR and a few others but she never let us get any new vaccines, only ones that had been around and not changed for years.

Then your son has his natural "vaccine" from chicken pox   See, one less thing to worry about lol. My daughter got the chicken pox as well, AFTER she already had 2 of her varicella vaccines lol. And there really is a huge difference from when we were vaccinated to now. When we were kids, we needed a total of like 12 vaccines to attend school. Now, it's somewhere around 35-40. It's a lot. There has been a huge jump in numbers there, which means a huge number in heavy metals and toxins that their little bodies have to expel. Side note. On I *think* the greater good, they talk about this. In children with autism, their mercury levels are off the charts. And in children with autism, hair samples show mercury expelled at a much slower rate. So it could be a predisposition already set in place.

The difference between being injected with something and eating something are completely different. Preservatives in vaccines like mercury and thimerosal stay in your muscle tissue and body forever. Bologna and food are processed by your body for what nutrients it may or may not have and is then removed.

I choose not to vaccinate because I don't feel like risking my childs well being; as there have been links to an increase in autism, childhood leukemia etc with some vaccinations.

Either way there are risks you just have to find out what your own morals are.

Unfortuneately in Mississippi you have no expemption rights. Your kid must have all vaccines to go to a public school.. Only a medical exemption is allowed and they are difficult to get as the adverse reaction must be submitted in writingto the school board and the CDC which most docs won't due. My little one seems to have come out okay so far.

You are in Mississippi though, your state and West Virginia are the ONLY states that do not have religious and/or philosophical exemptions, which I hope that changes. It is a shame that someone has to resort to homeschooling if they religiously do not believe in vaccinations.

No kidding right? I was so disappointed that my state doesn't allow me "The Parent" to decide what is best for my child. I considered homeschooling, but I don't think it will be an option.

The parent SHOULD be able to make every single decision when it comes to their child and what is being put into their bodies. I get the whole for the greater good, I do. I think the greater good has been so focused on we avoid things that should be looked at further. For example, if your child has a cold, or an asthma flare, or anything that has already compromised the immune system, we should NOT vaccinate. Any time anyone's immune system is not in prestine, tip top shape, we should wait. But we have now resorted to the belief that they need them by a certain time and so many at once. When really, the ONLY real reason we do them like we do is for convenience. Watch this. This is classic. It actually angers me, really. It is a congresswoman asking the CDC why children have to get SO many vaccines at one time. Just watch for her answer.

So, basically parents won't take their children to the doctor to get their shots on a different time schedule? Really? Just about every [arent I know take their kid to the doctor exactly when they are supposed to. I would GLADY have my child only get 1-2 shots per visit spaced out over getting 7 in one visit. NUTS!!! So glad I spaced them out the best I could... Using the alternative schedule.

It is nuts. And it's pretty infuriating that this is the real reason they do it, but finding a dr who will actually "allow" you to do this without "firing" you is hard as smurf because they tell you that you are jeopardizing your child's health and well being. Pushy doctors are another pet peeve of mine. A friend of mine was wanting to delay vaccines and her doctor straight up lied to her, told her that just last year he had to write the cause of deaths as pertussis for a family of 6. There weren't even 6 deaths in the state from pertussis last year according to dshs's website   Don't lie to scare the smurf out of people just to get them to vaccinate. Use FACTS.
