Help if you can! (maybe tmi)

Okay so I am 38 weeks pregnant and having my weekly appointments now. I have SO many questions for my doctor but its always a rush once im in the room. Its very irritating because i have never gone in there and not had to wait for 2+ hours before seeing him and then he only spends 5-10 minutes with me at most and doesnt really answer my questions thoroughly. Anyway....at about 35 weeks i got what I believed to be a yeast infection....a really bad one, or really bad something anyway. I didnt have a smell, and my discharge was normal but i was itching super bad down there around the outside. I tried the itch cream and ive pretty much gone without underwear since this started unless we are going out so that it can "air" I have not been able to talk to my doctor about this bc of the rush hes always doing and at my last the time was for 11 am, I had another app at 1pm that i absolutely could not miss and like always he didnt get me in until 5 minutes till and that was only because i went up and complained that i had to make my other app so it was really rushed, he didnt even tell me if i had dilated at all. Told him i was having some strong braxton hicks though and he said i need to have my hospital bag ready to and enough gas to get there at a moments notice so i guess im getting ready! But (sorry to keep getting off topic, lol) anyway i went to the hospital with pains in my left lower side and a headache that i had for 4 days and that i was really irritated "down there" they tested my urine and said no infection was showing up and they couldnt tell me why my head or side was hurting so badly but baby looked good and my bp and everything was good too so they gave me a pain pill that i never took bc i dont like to do that.
So....its been 3 weeks and im still irritated down there, this is my 3rd pregnancy and i never had this with the other two...is it a pregnancy thing, since an infection didnt show up in the urine tests (i have had 3 i think since this all started and nothing has shown in anything) Still no smell, no bad discharge or anything but the outside is just really irritated and its bugging me so bad...any tips or ideas? I do plan on talking to my doctor about it, i have another app tuesday and i dont care if i have to tie him down, hes going to answer some things for me!! Sorry so long but i dont have anyone else to ask, and please dont quote from this! Thanks in advance!

Did they test you for yeast or BV?

Two hours is ridiculous really. I would be pissed about a half hour. You shouldn't feel had about asking questions and making him spend time on you. HE works for YOU.

you definately need to talk to your doctor about how you feel your appointments are going. tell him you have somethings you want to talk to him about. and make sure hes answering them the way you want.

I'm in the same boat except im not prego. I have never gotten a yeast infection so i didn't no if i was going crazy but i posted on here and the girls told me i had a yeast infection

IMO it sounds like a yeast infection , If I were on your situation I would get some Monistat :/ hope you get some relief mama.

They didnt outright say they tested for it, but i told them the outside area was irritated. When the nurse came back in she said that no infections were showing up, so i assumed they tested for it. I have had BV a few times and this feels different, idk how to explain it really but its the outside vulva area that it irritated so badly, i just dont know what else it could be beside a possible infection  

That happend to me nothing.came up.on my.urine but when they checkd me i had a yeast infection nd they gave me.jus one pill.nd.it took it all awqy i wud demans to be checkd nd not jus urine cus obviously it doesnt.always show up on a urine test

Lol that was hard to read. OP id get a Monistat OTC one pill kit

I have tried the monistat external cream for itching. I didnt do the suppositories or anything bc it was on the outside...should i try those? They are safe while pregnant? And thanks, i hope for some soon!!

Yes they are safe! I've had to use the 3 day treatment during this pregnancy, the 1 day was too expensive for me lol

I will definitely try it then, ill try anything at this point! I still had a couple weeks of school left (for finals) when it first started...So very uncomfortable having to get up and go to the bathroom every few minutes because i was so uncomfortable. :O Of course, im sure everyone was probably just thinking it was bc baby on the bladder. lol but i still felt so weird. I do plan on driving my doc nuts at my next appointment though and asking him every question that i have been wanting to ask and any new ones that come to me and he will answer them all if it takes all day!

ok im on my 3rd child and i got a yeast infection with my daughter (1st child) and my daughter im prego with now.....and with this pregnancy the same thing happend that u are talking about it didnt show up but i knew it felt like another yeast infection so i got and got the monistat 7 day application kit and it did the trick and it is safe to use this while your prego my doc told me to use this so i used it both times and this will not go away by it self you must treat it also if you are having sex you could pass it to your partner...i would deff get some right away i know yeast infections are a pain in the butt....or other places lol anyways goodluck!

So I really hope this helps because I know exactly what you are going through! My doctor is the same way, only it doesn't take that long to get in the room. I called his office when I was about 25-27 weeks due to severe itching. The nurse over the phone said and I quote "It's probably just a yeast infection. You can take over the counter Monistat for dome relief." I was highly unhappy with this answer because 1) She rushed me off the phone, and 2) She didn't let me explain everything that was going on down there. So I took my happy ass to the ER and sat there for a few hours. Little did I know, I had 2 seperate infections, neither of which were a yeast infection or BV. I had to take two different pills for a week; Metronidazol and Nitrofurantoin Mono. I can't remember the names of the infections but I definately remember the symptoms! I would just go to the ER and be checked tonight! I started meds that day and by the next morning I was no longer itchy!

Thanks everyone, im using the 3 day monistat stuff and its only been 2 days now and already i feel SOOOO much better down there! I did ask my doctor about it today and he said if i was feeling better already from the meds then it was probably the yeast infection but said if it came back or didnt fully go away then to let him know and he would give me a prescription for it.
