Pre-Term but not Active Labor

I have been having contractions since Friday the 7th.. My doctor has already informed me that he will not induce unless my baby is threatened..But he will not stop my labor either if I have active labor.. I am only 36weeks and getting seriously burnt out my body is tired and I am physically and emotionally exhausted. I have tried walking, squatting, warm showers, and getting busy with my hubby(which I had to stop because it was causing light spotting and pain)... I just got over having two straight days of non-stop energy. Now I have been having some strong but not close enough in time contractions since last night an today its getting hard to walk because of pain.. I need help getting my labor a going.. HELP PLEASE! I am seriously exhausted..

Waiting is all you can do. It's actually quite common for latent labor to go on for several weeks and your baby clearly isn't ready if nothing is actively going on just yet. Give it time. Stressing over it isn't going to help you progress into active labor and what you're going through is common for 36 weeks. Hell, you can still go overdue.

Plus, the last 4 weeks of pregnancy are very important for the maturation of various organs and refinement of survival reflexes.

I can't help but I know how you feel ): I had pre term labor at 35 weeks and I was on bed rest. That meant no sex, no walking, no excessive moving of any kinds. I had irregular to regular contractions from June 29 to July 14 when I finally had LO.

Feel better momma. All I can tell you to do is get as much sleep as possible. Try an exercise ball. Just sit on it and rotate your hips around or just sit and bounce or be still. Doesn't matter. They help with comfort.

Wait. I'm exhausted too and I'm only 28 weeks. I hope my baby comes overdue though.

Have you also been in preterm labor for over a week now? Bcause I'm pretty sure that is what she is exhausted from and complaining about. Which DH has every right to do. Op, like the other poster suggested, make sure you get as much sleep as you can and drink lots and lots of water. try to get to 37 weeks If you can, but I know it's miserable, I'm sorry.

I would love for her to make it to be full term.. (My due date is my grandmother's birthday) She would love it! But I will def try a exercise ball if they help get comfy because I was put on bed rest an taken off.. But I am off work now because the doctor was surprised I even made it through the weekend without giving birth.. He said he would honestly be surprised if I made it past a week to ten days and that was on the 11th.. So hopefully I can either find some comfort or she just comes.. I try to sleep and the last day I am lucky if I can sleep an hour start because of the contractions and my back hurting me.. My poor husband is lacking sleep too because I am waking him up due to my tossing and turning all night..

Are you putting a pillow between your knees? That could help a little. I always had a pillow between my knees and then a stuffed animal or another pillow under my arm. It helps. And the exercise ball is AMAZING when it comes to comfort. I unfortunately didn't have one but sat on one for a little while one day and I NEVER wanted to get off it lol. I was uncomfortable my ENTIRE pregnancy and thought I popped my hip out at one point. So now that your hips are floating it helps keep them in line where they are supposed to be and makes it easier to sit

Yeah I am doing the pillow trick they still don't help much. My contractions vary in intensity that its horrid anymore.. An they are steady now on how strong they are the timing is just not helping me either.. Today it hurts to walk and every so often my right hip will I guess you could say gets "caught" and it sends even worse pain across my whole pelvis..

Definitely use the ball then. It will help a lot with the pelvic pain. That's the worst part about it. As far as contraction pain I'm not sure there is really anything you can do about it /: not that I know of anyway
