Being induced. December 27th.
posted 15th Dec
Yes I am going to be induced the 27th!
At 38 weeks!
.:*THIS IS DUE TO COMPLICATIONS!*:.
~~She needs immediate surgery!~~
(So please no anti-induction rants.)
I don't care to hear them.
Anyways any advice for the induction process?
Or ideas of what to take?
Ive heard that some inductions can take a while.
And I don't want to be bored with nothing better to do than wait for contractions and have my vagina looked at. =]]

induction sucks, i was in labor for 16 hrs. Best wishes to you and your little one...

My induction was 31 hours start to finish. 12 of that was with cervidal (I was not dilated or effaced. Within an hour I was 1cm).
I slept while I could. Read. And then once my water broke and the contractions got worse I didn't care about anything else.
Pushed off and on for 50 min (only about 10 pushes) and she was out.
Good luck!! I hope baby is okay.

I really hated my induction.
I was in a lot of pain. My labour lasted 27 hours and ended in an emergency c-section.

I was induced, with number 2. She was 42 weeks and very low fluid. My labor took 6 hours from induction to delivery. Yes, I had back labor, and was able to handle it with no epi. I personally think it goes different for everyone. But I suggest lots of magazines and movies. When your induced you are a very low priority, and anyone in labor or issues gets taken care of first. Just go prepared for a long stay. Good luck. Regaurdless of induction or natural, labor isnt a walk in the park.

Bring your phone and charger also a book to read it can take while.

My first came on his own and took a total of 31 hrs. i'm hoping that this one wont be as long.

Mine also ended with a c section

I didn't really have time to be unoccupied lol.
36 hours of contractions 2-4 minutes apart. I think the first half hour wasn't painful. I fought for six hours and folded, got an epidural after I spent the entire pregnancy wanting to do natural. After the epidural, I was so exhausted I took mini cat naps until I had to press the epidural button they gave me.
Got an emergency c-section in the end.
But, I also had other medical conditions, so if yours isn't painful, I suggest a laptop or tablet, or smart phone with charger.

thanks ladies. hoping to have a "rocket" baby and finish up quick and easy. The sooner she is here the sooner she can have surgery. and i can recover and be by her side!
quoteposted 15th Dec
If she needs immediate surgery why not just do a csection and get her out quickly?

I've had 3 inductions and they all went well. The first and third took about 18 hours and the second was about 9. Bring a book and good luck!

They said with her condition a c-section was not necessary unless she goes into distress. and ive already had one vaginal birth. i'd like to do another.

I wasn't induced, my water broke at home, but they did put pit in my IV to "help my contractions along." I was so mad because I told them not to (loooong story)
But...for me, it made the contractions come on hard and fast. I could barely get a breath in between them towards the end. I went from being dilated to a 4 to a 10 in 20 minutes. I pushed for just under an hour (about 9 or 10 good pushes) and he was out.
And I noticed that you said you wanted her to be a rocket baby, and that you could recover and be by her side. No worries about recovering....As long as everything goes normal, you'll be up and with her in NO time. I had DS around 11pm. I was up walking around my room about two hours later, and by the next morning I was taking walks around the outside of the hospital. And I had a TON of stitches...so it's not as bad as you would think.
GOOD LUCK!!!!

Quoting Leslie_marie:" They said with her condition a c-section was not necessary unless she goes into distress. and ive already had one vaginal birth. i'd like to do another."
I have 2 friends whose sons had the same thing your daughter does and they had to have csections. They were told it's a big risk to have a vaginal delivery with the intestines out like that. I understand you want a vaginal delivery but I think a csection would be a lot safer for your baby.
