Baby Names

So I thought picking baby names would be fun but boy was I wrong. It's been stressful and overwhelming for me anyways.Me and my boyfriend can't seem to come to an agreement. The name that he came up with is (not to sound mean) but really ugly to me....uuuggghhh...and then I have a name in mind that I really like....and then when I mention names to my mom she's like oooh that is sooo ugly   and I'm just like WTF!
Do any of you ladies have ideas or advice on how to pick a name or advice on how you came up with names???

I just kept pushing dds name on him until he agreed   I always win. He likes it now and can't imagine any other name on her LOL

You're better off only is discussing it with your boyfriend and don't tell your mom until the baby is born and named.

Just keep looking for names.

Don't tell your friends or family, their input is completely irrelevant.

When you find one you like, refer to baby by that name as much as possible, to see if you get sick of it or if it grows on you more everyday.

ug me and SO are in the same boat. we cant agree on ANYTHING to do with her name.

Just keep bringing it up every so often. We got lucky with our son. The first name I suggested we both loved, Rory William. With this one, girls names, we went through about six before I got him to look through names and give me some he liked. We settled on Anwen Lilie. The boy name was easy for us again, just a few times tossing things back and forth once we knew pregnancy was actually probable, Henry Arthur. We talk about names a lot though so I'm sure after this one is born we'll start discussing names again for the next.

I'm now starting to figure out that it is a better idea to just keep it between me and my bf because my mom was really starting to piss me off lol

I'll tell my mom, but also have told her "I couldn't care less if you like it, it's my child." When we had our second pregnancy we'd been told we'd lost the baby then that we hadn't so my husband wanted to use the name Hope for a girl and my mom decided to go on and on about it and that it should be Faith blah blah blah. And that she will NOT have ugly grandbabies and will NOT have grandbabies with ugly names..   Says the woman who thought Nevaeh was classy... Psh

Hope is a pretty name....I told my mom that I'm not discussing names with her anymore but she still continues to come to me with names haha but I guess she's just trying to help

yea my mom whole side of the family threw a HUGEEEE bitch fit for weeks because we wanted to name her Lilliana and my cousin who isnt pregnant nor TTC for at least 3 years wanted to name her future baby lilly -.- i wouldnt ask name advice from anyone really.

The name that I came up with is Ava Gabrielle and my boyfriends last name is Estrada so it would be Ava Gabrielle Estrada and he came up with Glenrosa I'm not sure how he would spell it but I think it's really ugly
