Grocery shopping for two weeks...

posted 15th Dec
I need to shop for the next two weeks but keep it low carb and sugar and under $75.
Things I'll definitely need are:
2 gallons of milk
2 loaves of whole wheat bread

What else would you buy for a family of 3?

We buy fruits, veggies and little snacks for the kids. Those little packs of cookies or fruit snacks.

Fruit snacks are banned from our house. DD eats them like crack. She demands them as soon as she gets in the car. I couldn't take it anymore. She was eating like 6 packs a day. She's been cut off. We do have enough snacks for her for the next couple of weeks, though. So that helps our budget.

I eat low carb, also. My staples are ground beef and frozen chicken breasts. I'd get a bunch of veggies and eggs, too.

Haha, dd was like that too. Now we limit one a day for her and her brother.
What about juice boxes?

I concur with fruits and veggis see if you can get then cheaper at farms. Also make meals that will have left overs to eat another day like turkey meat loaf, turkey stuffed bell peppers, or different soups.

Confused.... Neither milk nor bread are typically on low carb diets. Low carb is expensive, i don't think there's reapply a way to do it cheap.

I have gestational diabetes so I have to watch my carb intake.

Milk and bread are staples in our house for DH and DD's lunches and she drinks milk like crazy. We buy 1% so I can have a small glass with meals. I hate having to count carbs but I have gestational diabetes.

Anything with sugar, rice, or flour is carb.
