I wanted to go ahead and start it now or before I go to bed, like within the next hour. If I do that, what time do you think it'd be ready by? Do you put your potatoes in it and onions in it at the same time or do you wait a few hours before it's done to put those in?

I always put everything in at once. Why don't you cut the veggies and all that stuff but put it in a bag in the fridge until the morning and start the crockpot then?

Do you have a crock-pot that has a delayed start option? On mine I can set it to start cooking at 6am and when we get ready to eat it at 2 it's perfect

Idk, I could do that. I want to eat it around lunch though and I'm not waking up super early just to start a crock pot.

Dang! Christmas present maybe? ;) Got mine last year and I LOVE it. But back to the topic, if you started it now it would be ready to eat around 7am right? Lol I would wait until you got up and start it

You could cook it on high for 4-6 hours. All you need to do is check the internal temperature before you serve it.

I cook mine all day, i usually add the carrots and potatoes 4 hours later after the roast. I'm picky about roast and i use season salt, pepper and brown gravy. I love cooking roast. Anyone that has ate mine says it's better then their mom's or grandma's.
