Am I close?

posted 14th Dec
So I am 39 weeks today, 2cm dilated/70% effaced and the head is at a -2 station. I almost got induced for BP, but Midwife is letting me go naturally because it is back down. Anyways I have been having terrible cramps for days now on and off accompanied by this shooting pain in my right hip that also hits my bladder. It is almost like he is slamming his head into my sciatic and cervix. I literally feel like he is going to fall out of me lol. The cramps I am having were so bad yesterday that I was convinced I was in labor but sure enough they went away when I went to bed. Is there any indication here that I could be going into labor soon? I am not trying any induction methods until 40+ weeks, the only thing I am doing is drinking Raspberry Leaf tea and walking a lot. But do you think I could be going into labor soon? Thanks!

Seeing as though you're 39 weeks, I'm going to go ahead and say, yes you are close...anytime between now, and 3 weeks from now

its possible but alot of people have your kind of measurements and nothing happens..and then some women have them for a week and they get into early stages of labor it really all depends how ready your body is. What we think and what your body does is 2 different things. Walking will help..I didn't know about the tea tho. I was at 2cm and 70% for over a month with my last pregnancy..chances are yes you can soon and chances are no you can't. you have more of a chance then a person that isn't dialated at all does that help? lol

I understand completely! try laying on your left side and drinking like three glasses of water, that should help take the edge off a little! if that doesn't help and you happen to have a yoga ball sit on it and "roll" your hips in a circular motion, that has been known to help a little also. Good Luck!

Thank you! I was totally convinced that because I was dilated that it meant something and my midwife was like, oh it could be that way for months. Ah dammit! hehe I want to meet my little guy so bad!
