I will still send them to public school. Smurf can happen anywhere.

My children do and will continue to attend public schools.

Not me. Anything can happen at anytime, anywhere. I'm not going to put my entire life on pause to homeschool my kids-especially not because of this.

I hated public school. Plus home schooled kids can still be in morning playgroups, have friends and cousins that they play with etc. It's not like they will never know another kid their age and not be able to socialize lol

My child will most likely be going to public school. Tragedy strikes everywhere not just schools.

That's a good idea

We are not homeschooling. We do not feel we have the knowledge to home school our children to be well rounded students. For example, I am terrible at math. Plus we have good public schools here.
I do not believe homeschooling is bad; however, to homeschool based on fear alone of school shooting is. One can not avoid all crime.

Not that homeschooling is wrong, but the socialization is not the same. No matter how many weekly play groups or cousins one may have, having interaction daily away from parents is undeniably different.

not me. tragedies can happen anywhere. like the virginia tech massacre, i went the year after it happened.

I wanted to homeschool before. I still want to, but unless DH gets a promotion ahead of schedule then I will have to go back to work next year. I have thought about finding another mom with a kid his age who was homeschooling and see if she could do his too though. Safety is an issue, but for us it's more about the quality of our public school system and the lack of vaccine exemptions in our state.
