36 weeks and 1cm dilated....

Need advice:
I got checked out by my OB yesterday and she said I was 1cm dilated, which is "normal". But now I am having some sharp pains deep inside, and whenever my baby moves the pressure gets a little intense. Could I be dilating more? Or is this indeed normal and its just pressure from my baby?

That happens after you get a check. It's probably just normal pains.
I've been at 2 cm for 2 weeks now.

Id say normal. I feel alot more contractions pains & cramps also a lot of pressure after I get checked. Im 4cm 70% & 34 weeks. Every time they check me I swear Im going into labor for days after. I have been dialated for 2 weeks now. She is also -1 in position.

It's probably normal. How come they checked you so early? My doctor wouldn't do it until I was 39 weeks.

Mine checked at 35 weeks.. And for 3 weeks after until I had him..

So its just soreness? Oh thank goodness!! haha. My Ob will check me every week or until I go into actual labor. I think it just depends on their policy. This is my first bby so I'm super nervous. Especially as 37 weeks is considered full term and I'm only a few days away from that > Thank you for easing my fears!

37 weeks is not classed as full term. It's 'term'. 40 weeks is FULL term.

  Where does everyone keep hearing that 35, 36, or 37 weeks are full term?

No idea but it irritates me   like, why do they let people go to 42 weeks if 37 is full term? *facepalm*

I couldn't agree more...

Everyone will agree to disagree that 37 weeks is term... not full term but I have had several doctors say in the past few weeks when I was in & out of l&d in preterm labor say that 37 weeks is full term... Maybe they just dont notice they are saying it... but when I tell them I had 3 preterm babies at 34 36 & 37 weeks all of them said well 37 weeks is full term... Either way you could be feeling this until your due date... Im 34 weeks now but I have been in & out of the hospital for weeks having contractions every 2-3 minutes then 5-6 minutes & I havent dilated past 4cm... So its not active labor... My doctor told me his wife was the same way for 5 weeks before she delivered...

WELL IN MY AREA THERE ARE PREGNANCY COMMERCIALS ALL OVER THE TELEVISION AND ONE ACTUALLY SAYS THAT YOUR BABY IS NOT FULL TERM UNTIL 39 WEEKS BUT SOME SA 37 WEEKS BECAUSE IF YOU DO GO INTO LABOR THAT YOUR BABY WOULD SURVIVE JUST FINE....

My own OB told me that at 37 weeks she is considered "full term". I think it just differs depending on the OB. She just explained to me that while 40 weeks is always better for babies to be born, 37 is when they are fully ready for life on the outside of the womb
