My oldest is 8 and still believes- although I'm sure she is told at school the truth so there is probably some doubt.

Sadly, my 5 year old will probably stop believing when my 8 year old does. She already questions things like "Is that the REAL Santa?" when we go to see him at the mall etc. So, she knows there is some deception already!

Its a long story but my oldest just couldn't believe that someone like Santa could be real. Lol she questioned it constantly lol she also hated cartoons cause to her they were too fake. She would say stuff like bears don't talk like us. Animals don't wear clothes and cook go to school etc....

So we told my middle when she was 3 too. Lol
they have never told other kids at school and so on. But all the Kidd we know don't believe either most didn't believe past 4-5 yrs old

I couldn't bear to have my kids not believe at such a young age. It takes the magic out of Christmas. I think these days parents make their kids grow up too fast, and I'd like to keep my kids innocence a little longer. But that's just my opinion.

On the other hand (like how it will be in our house) We are saddened by the fact that we believe Christmas should be about Christ, and it's a shame so much emphasis as been placed on an imaginary person. (I know not everyone is religious which is why I said in our house)..just another point of view.

lol..that's how I figured it out, too! I tried telling my little brother Santa wasn't real, but he didn't believe me!
