For Christmas dinner? I'm not sure what sides to have to go along with a spiral ham.

It's our first Christmas in our new home and family is coming here this year   Can't wait to use the double oven!

I love sweet potatoes! Green bean casserole is my go to for both Thanksgiving and Christmas lol. But I love it!

It is delicious and so easy...it pairs well with the ham.

Butternut squash, granny smith apples, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon and you are done!

DH's family is most likely doing the turkey/ham, assorted potatoes, cooked veggies, etc. deal.

My family is doing italian this year. My aunt and uncle will be having spaghetti, jumbo shrimp, garlic bread, and salads.

We're going to go the most un-traditional way, and grill steaks and such. My mom and myself feels like it takes away from Christmas being in the kitchen most of the day. So we'll probably just do a big breakfast Xmas morning, then grill out that night or something?

That sounds good. DH, the kids, and I will do presents and such first thing. Then the rest of the family is coming over and we are doing an early dinner/late lunch and do their presents.

We've never done traditions, but now that we own a home we want to start, I just don't know where to begin lol

That's my problem, I never know where to begin. I'm just like, uhhh?
I will usually just help my mom out. I don't think I could ever do a whole holiday meal by myself, seems stressful.. to me.

Fortunately my husband is a chef, so he does the cooking lol. I just help him and help him decide what sides everyone would like.

Lucky! SO THINKS he's a chef! lol He's all about making these extravagant sauces and marinades and most of the time they taste like crap, I don't tell him that, though. lol So, he's no help. He makes a bigger mess than anything.
