People are gonna be broke from buying Christmas presents, I wouldn't. That's just added stress for them and you may wind up with a bad turn out because of it.

My baby was due the first week of Dec and my sister wanted throw it around Thanksgiving.

Not only was I going to be 38 weeks then (NOT waiting until then to start being prepared, needed to BE done at that point) but people were already planning for xmas and black friday shopping. I asked her to throw it in Oct.

They might be in town bc they get time off work or having a get together. We had mine around a time when we knew family would be visiting during our town's Halloween celebration/parade.

i've had summer babies so never really had to worry about it,
this time i don't even want a shower but my mom/friend insist, it won't be til much later though, and just for like...diapers

I was due 2/7 and had my shower early on November 22nd because of Christmas.

Its not about the gifts, but I think people have more on their plates this time of year, and may not be able to come.

I would announce it before in come tax's and have it shortly after.

One of my LO's birthdays is very close to christmas. So we do her big party the first weekend of December to make sure it's better for everyone. Then do a intimate one on the actual birthday. I'd say it's not a terrible time, but there are better times.
