The restraining order will not affect visitation at all. The hand offs will be done by a 3rd party or in a public space like a police station.

She's mad because we can't let him spend the night just yet because our apartment is too small. We had even told her beforehand that we wanted to wait until we got a house this spring! Then she wanted to cancel their child support because the order stated she had to have insurance for him and DH doesn't want to cancel the order because at anytime she could re-open it and sue for back support!

Honestly, I would be upset about the visitation aspect as well. She is encouraging a relationship between them, your DH should take every opportunity he can with his child.

I'm with your DH on the CS thing....cancelling it would be stupid and the only person that would suffer is the child.

Oh he has! He's offered to spend every weekend seeing him for several hours. (he works 12 hour shifts during the week so it's impossible for us to see him then) Just because he can't stay the night yet doesn't mean we don't still want to see him when we can. Like I said, she wanted things done a certain way and she's pissed that that isn't happening even though we told her about our living situation before they even moved back to Ohio!

And I can understand her not being thrilled about it, but I'm pissed that she's using it as a reason to say she's going to keep his son from him now. She's punishing their son because she's mad at us and I don't think that's right.
