It would be 50/50 legal that would mean, leagally ur both responsible, and she would have to have ur husband sign off if she wanted to say put her in counseling or take her outta country for vacas,

Physical custodys diff depending on her age and familiarity with u guys they won't let u take her for weeks at a time,

We want visitation and then possibly fifty fifty. If we saw that she was in an harmful environment then we would try to get full custody

So basically we wud start with like weekends and then if we wanted to change it down the road for summers we cud go back to court to try to change it? We wud be okay with anything we cud get.

Sorry I misunderstood. I thought your op said custody as in full custody.

I do 50 / 50 with dd. it works well

Whats it like? Like weekends? I dont want DS growing up not knowing his sister. We are prepared to save up money for court costs and back child support. It will more than likely be when DH gets done with college and moves up in his career. Possibly 4 years.

Ever Thursday night he picks her up from daycare and she stays Thursday night and usually Friday night. I pick her up either on Friday night / sat morning or sun morning. Just depends if either my ex or I have plans. We work together so it's best for everyone but can b stressful.

He did have her wed nights previously but it was not good for dd she was getting upset.

Next year I will have her Thursday night as well so I have her 5 nights a week so more than 50%. This was because dd could not cope with not being with her mother n was getting upset n lashing out. We try to keep it consistent as possible.

We live 2 hours apart n both work 6 days a week so we originally split across 2 daycares which was not good.

If your step daughter is close by and an age to understand 50% works well. My daughter is three and it worked good for us as parents but we realised her best interests was to b with one more than the other. I am in the better position for dd when she starts school so we decided it was best for her to be with me. And also because she needs mum more than dad, even though she loves dad to bits. Just honest.

we live in different states, its a 6 hour drive to where she lives.

U won't get over nights off the bat, she dosnt know him, I think u have a period of supervised then it can go to overnights and so on, if u wanted more time, just depends if the mom is willing to work, because ur already getting time and its very easy for mom to go in and say *hey he already gets so many days*
That's when u have to try and work on a relationship with the motther, took 3 years for me to even be in same place as my ex, we used to have a mediator at police station because the court was so bad...
Now we work out our own custody and switch but that would be up to the mother to ever do that...

Esp cuz u guys live in diff states u won't be able to do days during the week just to hang out, and when she starts school it changes because she would need a routine just not going back and forth...
Whenwe went to court dean was in learning academy, so judge agreed for him not to go anywhere on weekends, so if she's already in school or something that goes in moms favor

we live 75 miles away from eachother and he comes out to get dean and brings him home...
