Would you be annoyed?

Okay so I watch my nephew and son at my sister's house (at her request). Well I always do the dishes from lunch, but Tuesday they just had a sandwich and chips (so there was 2 plates, 2 cups and a butter knife) and they were really difficult to put to sleep so I didn't get a chance to do the 5 dishes. I had done the dishes from her dinner the night before that morning. Well Wednesday there was the lunch dishes and the dinner dishes (her kitchen was WRECKED....she gets home at 2:30pm so there is plenty of time to do one load of dishes). My DH thinks I am being taken advantage of, she expects me to vacuum up the messes HER puppy makes, leaves her dishes out and says "I forgot to do them" 3 out of the 4 days I am here. I did the lunch dishes from Tuesday and Wednesday but left the dinner dishes. I got here today and the dinner dishes from yesterday AND last night were all over the counter. I did them because there was no counter space for me to even make lunch. :/

Am I wrong to feel annoyed? How would you handle it?

Don't do the dishes. I wouldn't. I don't often do my dishes every night. He'll, sometimes I will go 2 days without doing them but I would never expect anyone to do them for me.

Ya I wouldn't put up with it. I would refuse to do the dishes or I would stop babysitting.

My issue lies in that if I don't she makes side comments "oh I guess you didn't have time to do the dishes" or look at the sink and ask "I guess you have been busy". She knows how to get under my skin I guess. LOL

Maybe she leaves the dishes dirty because she knows you will do them...because you do. I would let the dishes pile ceiling high. Don't give in because se will expect it.

The thought of cooking in a disgusting kitchen makes me sick. If I didn't have to make lunch for my nephew and DS the mess wouldn't bother me.   But you are probably right.

Why don't you start watching your nephew at your house? You said she requested it but for what she pays you, she is definitely expecting too much. I would absolutely be annoyed and it would turn into a war of wills. I'd make neat piles of her dirty dishes, cleaning "my" mess around them as normal.
