Yeah, that's not healthy. Most doctors advise you to lose a pound a week tops. You'll gain it all back if you lose it that fast.

2lbs a week is perfectly healthy. You can easily gain back weight no matter how you lose it

I've lost 29 pounds (27 more to go) rather quickly by exercising (30 Day Shred & yoga).

I also don't drink soda and limit alcohol. I mainly drink coffee (I treat myself to a big cup of coffee with creamer or whipped cream every morning), water, tea, and fresh juices. I eat loads of veggies, apples, and bananas. I used to eat TONS of breads and cheeses, so I switched to whole grain breads and rice pastas and the only cheese I use is feta on my salads. For energy, peanut butter, eggs, and whole wheat is great in the morning. For dinner, I eat whatever I fix the family, but I only get one plate and smaller portions. Drinking a glass of water before you eat helps immensely to feel full quicker.

Seriously, at first it is kind of hard getting used to, but soon you will crave the healthy food. I used to be a fast food JUNKIE and ate like smurf at home, and I can hardly even stomach it now. When you eat better, you are literally detoxifying your body of the chemicals in processed (and boxed grocery items) foods. When you start enjoying the healthy food, you'll know your body is adjusting and you will start losing excess fat.

It takes dedication, but you can do it.

ETA: Don't look at it as diet, look at it as a lifestyle change. I did this too many times with fad diets, prescription diet pills (I was and addict), and starving myself. You may get quick results, but when I gained it back, I gained tenfold. You don't go back to your old eating habits ever. I promise, you ARE what you eat.

Obviously eating right like everyone said above, but to add on to that you could try intermittent fasting and doing interval training and strengh training. Since lean body mass accounts for 70% of the calories burned while resting its important to do strengh training so you will be burning more calories throughout the day.
This guy in these videos can really help you learn what you need to do because he also gets into the science perspective of it and he says some cool things I would have never known.
