Head butting

posted 13th Dec
My DS just turned one on the 23rd of Nov. and well for the past few weeks hes been head butting everything. More walls and the doors then anything and Im not talking just a little hit Im talking like holy smurf how are you not knocking yourself out. Also starting yesterday hes been pulling his hair, hard and that im pushing toward teething because he will get his ear in the pulling and he had a tooth cut thru. I dont know how to control this and how to stop it, it went from just doing it little on someones leg to full blow smashing his head. Please if anyone has any idea I would love to hear them, its starting to scare the smurf out of me. TIA

Dont put it past me. Smurf my parents duct taped a flash light to our helmets at night when we were younger so we could see and people could see us. If I can find some ill have him rock a bubble helmet.

Oh so that falls in line with I should wrap my whole house in bubble wrap? I really thought a few times he was going to knock himself out, he was just head butting the wall and I know I heard the stud in the wall being hit. I pull him away and rub his head and say no no and its like his drug and he goes right back.

My 3yo has graduated to throwing himself into things.. apparently it falls into the normal category lol my pediatrician told me he did it too. Im like yay good for you, you're a doctor, no brain damage lol

Mine started off with head shaking, then started the head butting.

Now my 10 month old does it too.. he sits and whops his head into the kitchen cabinets. I just try to redirect him as much as I can.
