You stated your opinion on a public forum and are now being asked WHY you feel that way.

that's funny lol My SO's brother was breastfed by his aunt, just because she thought it'd be funny if he latched.   All of SO's brothers and sisters were formula fed.

My little one was too small too breast feed at first and then when he was big enough he got too frustrated with the ordeal. I hope with the next one I am able to breast feed for as long as the little one wants unless it is taking a toll on our health. I know that my partner would not like me breastfeeding past a year and a half. But luckily, it's not up to him.

What someone does is their own business, to each their own.

Thank you I am really hoping it works this time around last time it didn't go so well do to a long NICU stay and low milk supply.

No i do NOW. I mean I don't know if there will be a stage in life where I won't want to get changed in front of her anymore. I'm saying I won't for now, but I don't really know until she grows older. My mom and dad never got undressed when I was younger. My mom went to the bathroom with me until I was like 5, but we always faced the wall when we did that.

Whoops, didn't mean to post that so many times. I am not saying that is it gross for the child to still drink breast milk, breast milk is the most beneficial for them. But as fat as a four year old child still on the breast, I just think that's too old. Again, that's my opinion. Some may agree, some may not.

I still shower with my 3 & 5 year old sons and I don't see it stopping anytime in the near future. I don't think there's a cut off age for these things, whether it be showering/nakedness, breast feeding etc. Just when someone starts to feel uncomfortable with it (most likely the kid).

Now it'd be a little crazy to me to see an adult mother breast feeding an adult child but hey, if that's how they roll who am I or anyone else to say that's wrong.

Do you know WHY the ACT of breastfeeding is beneficial? It's not just drinking the breastmilk thats good for them, it's the actual act of doing it that benefits them.

Yea, I'm not saying for sure that I won't do it. I'm just saying that right now I feel uncomfortable with idea of breastfeeding, changing, bathing, etc... with my daughter when she's older. Right now I still breastfeed, change, go to the bathroom, all of the above. lol

I dont think its really needed. Kids at that age should be nursing often enough for it to really have super high health benefits. People say it doesnt scar the child for doing it when they will remember it later in life. My dh remembers nursing and he thinks its gross to think about. Not saying everyone will be that way but i mean what adult will really be like "im so glad my mom nursed me until i was 5, such great health benefits!" Sorry but no.

Oh gotcha. Yeah I'm the same way. I say that at some point I'll won't, but who knows if it will happen or not.
I mean I don't want to be changing tampons in front of him when he's 5 or anything lol
