I don't have a pattern, but I think a single crochet would work better than a double. I love using double for blankets and stuff, though.

You could always check youtube  

Ch. 4. Sl St through last to make a ring.
Round 1: Ch. 2, 13 DC through center of ring, sl st to top of ch. 2 to join.
Round 2: Ch. 2, 2 DC in each st. sl st to join.
Round 3" Ch. 2 1 DC in first st, 2 DC in next. (Repeat) end with 2 DC, sl st to join.
Round 4: Ch. 2. 1 DC in next 2 sts, 2 DC in st (Repeat) sl st to join.
Round 5: Ch 2, 1 DC in each st around, sl st to join.
*Repeat round 5 until desired length.
Tie off and weave in ends.

I use double for all of my beanies/hats. I like it better for some reason. Also, instead of doing the chain and then joining, I use the Magic Ring. So much easier!

It looks good! He's a cutie! You're absolutely welcome. It's the only pattern I use for beanies.  

I have a request from my friend, but with a flower for this hat? You dont happen to have a pattern for a flower? Ive found a few online... but they look really complex!
